Cyprus is an island located four and a half hours by plane from Paris (Larnaca) and is the easternmost part of the Mediterranean Sea, often referred to as European but south of Anatolia (Asian part of modern Turkey) and in front of Syria, while a member of the European Union's de facto southern part.
Places to visit
If you love nature, explore the Troodos massif. Initially, you will have to part with magnificent mountains and can discover the numerous monasteries of the 15th century stand in it. Some, like the Monastery of Kykkos, back to the 12th century.That of Asinou is also worth visiting. In the Akamas peninsula, west of the country, you will enjoy unspoilt nature and can go hiking or enjoy a seaside holiday more authentic than elsewhere in Polis. In the south, do not miss the castle built by the Kolossi hospital in the thirteenth century. Landside, Nicosia without being very interesting tourist to visit.
